Waldorf Watch: Waldorf Student selected for Olympic Development Soccer Program

chloe-koubel5th grader, Chloe Akaba-Koubel has been selected to participate in two prestigious soccer development programs including a spot on the Red Bulls Winter Showcase Team!

The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association Olympic Development Program holds tryouts annually. Chloe made it through all three rounds and was selected to be a member of the elite 2016-17 State Olympic Development Program (ODP)! The training is aimed at enhancing the development of players in order to facilitate their chance of being identified and then selected for Regional and then National Pools / Teams.

chloe-koubel-2In addition, Chloe participated in tryouts for the New York Red Bulls Regional Development School (RDS). This program, subsidized by the Long Island Junior Soccer League, provides top training for the best players in the league and beyond. Chloe was selected as one of the top prospects for her age category in the RDS, and earned an invitation to try-out for the RDS Winter Showcase Team in November. This try-out is by invitation only, based on recommendations by RDS coaches, and participation is reserved for around their top 10% of players. After a long cold day of competition, Chloe learned that she was chosen for the team!
