Waldorf’s Varsity Girls Cross Country Team win Championship!

Congratulations to the Waldorf School of Garden City Varsity Girl’s Cross Country Team on their 2014 Private Schools Athletic Association (PSAA) Varsity Girls Cross Country Championship! The team finished first in a field of numerous teams who participated in the Championship event held at Van Cortlandt Park on Wednesday, October 29.

Seven of Waldorf’s athletes ran the 3.1-mile course, with two runners — Abby Picoli and Rachel Rosenstein – placing seventh and tenth, respectively. The Championship meet included over thirty runners from private schools across Long Island and New York City.

Waldorf’s Varsity Girls Cross Country Team, and their coach Mr. Jeffrey Katzman, have been practicing diligently since the start of the school year. The team meets twice weekly after school; working on improving their running stride and technique, while also building stamina, endurance and speed.
