Admissions

“As a family, we all agree we’ve made the right decision for our [son to be] at Waldorf, and of course none of this would be possible without the support of…the entire Admissions team. You have our deepest appreciation for all you’ve done for our family. We endeavor every day to put some of that kindness and generosity we’ve received back into the Waldorf community. “

Dear Prospective Family,

Whether you are thinking of enrolling your three-year-old or your thirteen-year-old we are proud to be amongst the options you are exploring. Our website is filled with photographs, curriculum guides, and videos, all aimed at helping you to become better acquainted with who we are, and what we have to offer. We encourage you to explore these resources and invite you to come and visit to see the school firsthand.

The Waldorf School of Garden City seeks to support students in their development to becoming passionate, engaged, interdisciplinary, and global citizens. From the warm and nurturing atmosphere in our early childhood classrooms to the intellectual rigor of our high school, the School draws on the powerful combination of a traditional liberal arts approach and our experiential learning opportunities. Students have almost unlimited options—classes from the fine arts to the physical sciences, from discussion-based seminars to innovative laboratory experiences.

Forming a community unlike any other on Long Island, the Waldorf School of Garden City students come from down the street, across county lines, and around the globe. We have over fifty school districts represented at our school, ninety-three different zip codes, and countless numbers of students claiming ties to another nation. Representing diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, our students are smart, funny, and down-to-earth—the kind of people who become friends for life.

From this fertile ground springs lively discourse, experimental music, groundbreaking theater, the region’s most developed artistic curriculum, and championship sports teams.
