Freshman George Ouelette Represents Waldorf at IPPSAL Invitational Golf Tournament

On Tuesday, May 21st, freshman George Ouellette stepped forward to represent the Waldorf School of Garden City in the IPPSAL (Independent Private and Parochial School Athletic League) Invitational Golf Tournament.

Ouellette shot a 92 on a very challenging course at the Glen Cove Municipal Golf Club. Playing the full 18 holes on a clear and sunny day, Ouellette got off to a good start on the front nine with a score of 41. However, the back 9 was not as kind and Ouelette played them in 51.

Ouelette, who was playing with new clubs which take time to get use to, stated, “The back nine was a bit slower and affected my putting game. Also, one or two drives got away from me.”

Athletic Director Paul LeSueur and Coach Shane Flanagan were both very pleased that Ouellette represented the Waldorf School of Garden City in such fine form. Said LeSueur, “This was Waldorf’s first introduction to varsity-level golf competition. Our congratulations and thanks to George for representing his School so well!”
