Karnika Kisnadwala ‘12, is the Founder & CEO of Kaanjj, a curated collective of 50 plus South Asian emerging designers & artisans. Based in London & Bombay, Karnika founded the ecommerce platform alongside her mother Sonal, during the pandemic.

From a young age, Karnika was exposed to the wonderful world of art and fashion that always surrounded her mother. Born in New York, and later living in London and Hong Kong, Karnika created Kaanjj to exemplify the melting pot of style and taste that embodies the modern indi vidual.

Kaanjj’s stylistic flair is imbued with the storied Kisnadwala family history, culture, traditions, and heritage and South Asian art. From sourcing the silk and getting it to market in Thailand and Cambodia, to seeing how ikats and patola sarees are painstakingly woven in Bali and Gujarat before they grace the waists of the fashionable around the world, Karnika has had the great pleasure of experiencing the artisan process throughout South East Asia.

In London, Karnika completed her undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, and PR, and her master’s degree in Luxury Brand Management. Using the knowledge she gained from her life experiences, education, and work, Karnika felt driven to make her and her mother’s vision for Kaanjj a reality.
