Each year, students and families from the Waldorf School of Garden City support the Salvation Army Thanksgiving food assistance program as a way of reaching out to families in need from the Long Island community. This past week, Waldorf families and students donated canned goods, packaged dry goods, boxed foods, and canned hams.

“Many thanks to our families who helped in this critical food drive,” said Faculty Chair Ms. Sabine Kully. “We are delighted to be partnering once again with the Salvation Army in this worthwhile program of practical assistance to our neighbors.”

The food donations were picked up by a representative from the Salvation Army on Tuesday, November 25th.

“At this special time of year, we give thanks for the many gifts in our lives,” said Ms. Kully. “And we also remember those who are less fortunate. Thank you to all for their help in supporting the Salvation Army food assistance program!”
