Waldorf Watch: Freshman Mia Ver Pault to Participate in Leadership Conference

Congratulations to Waldorf freshman Mia Ver Pault for being one of 20 students selected from the Diocese of Long Island, (which includes churches from Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk) to participate in the 2017 Episcopal Youth Event (EYE) in Oklahoma City. The conference, whose theme this year is “Path to Peace,” will enable young people to join together for celebration, worship, learning, and leadership training.

Four of the 20 students selected to participate are from Mia’s own parish, The Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City. The participants were chosen based on their involvement in the church, and an application where they answered questions about why they want to attend, what they could offer to the conference and how they would use what they learn when they return home.

Mia is an accomplished musician who has been singing in the choir at The Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City for eight years. She also attends the Girl Chorister Course at St. Thomas Choir School in Manhattan during the summer.  Mia is a member of the Waldorf School’s High School Chorus, and was recently part of the ensemble in the High School’s 2017 production of, In the Heights. She has been a student at the Waldorf School of Garden City since kindergarten and we are very proud of her accomplishments.
