Waldorf Watch: Sidra Akhtar

akhtar-sidra-gWaldorf Senior Sidra Akhtar was selected to have her photography featured in a special exhibition at the Cooper Union School of Art on display from November 15 – 18. The exhibition is part of their Outreach Pre-College Program, and highlights the work of many up-and-coming high school students.

Every fall, Cooper Union selects 18 students to participate in the program, all of whom are provided with full scholarships and materials such as cameras and pencils. The five 8-week courses, running from September through November,  focus on teaching students the arts of drawing, photography, poetry and more.

All classes are taught by current Cooper Union professors. Sidra completed coursework in darkroom, drawing and writing. Congratulation to Sidra for this impressive accomplishment. An Avid photographer, Sidra is now preparing to study computer science in college. We wish her luck in all future endeavors.

The exhibition opens on Tuesday, November 15th from 6-8 pm with a special reception at The Cooper Union Foundation Building in the 5th Floor Lobby .
