Mabel Pew Myrin Planned Giving Society

Mabel Pew Myrin was prompted to establish the Waldorf School Trust in 1960, to affirm her belief in Waldorf educational methods. This was our School’s first planned gift and, as with all planned gifts, we continue to reap the benefits of her generosity. In 2003, to honor this extraordinary legacy gift, the School established the Mabel Pew Myrin Planned Giving Society.

Membership in the Mabel Pew Myrin Planned Giving Society is available to anyone who makes a planned gift to the School. Planned gifts can be made by:

  • Naming the Waldorf School of Garden City in your will or living trust.
  • Designating the School as a beneficiary of your retirement plan.
  • Listing the School as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy.
  • Establishing a gift that provides lifetime income for you or a loved one.

My Mother Margaret S. Morrow, was a teacher for many years at Waldorf, specializing in art, and she loved everything about the place – students, faculty colleagues, and the overarching philosophy.

My mother died in November 2012. Her devotion to Waldorf manifested itself in many ways, including the final provisions of her estate. Peggy Morrow [was] forever in her head an art teacher at Waldorf, bringing home wonderful stories of another great day in papier-mâché, paint, or clay!

-Mark Morrow

Having affirmed their steadfast belief in the mission of the Waldorf School of Garden City, members of the Planned Giving Society receive periodic mailings, invitations to special school events and recognition in the Waldorf School Annual Report.
